For bodies that are hurting, hearts that are wounded, and spirits that need God’s restorative touch.
Lord God, Great Physician, I come to You with a body that is hurting and a heart that is weary. You know each cell and each nerve, and each part of me that isn’t working the way You designed it to. Before the doctors gave it a name, You already knew. Before the test results came back, You had already counted the hairs on my head and the days ordained for me.
I ask You to heal me, Lord. Not because I have earned it, not because my faith is perfect, but because You are compassionate and Your love for me does not depend on how well I perform. I come to You the way the sick came to Jesus, desperate and humbled, with nowhere else to turn. He never turned them away, and I trust that You will not turn me away now.
Touch my body, Father. Where there is disease, bring restoration. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where cells have gone wrong, correct them by the power that spoke the universe into existence. You formed me in my mother’s womb, and nothing about my body is a mystery to You.
But Lord, I ask for more than physical healing. Heal my emotions too. Heal the fear that comes with each new symptom, each waiting room, each phone call from the doctor’s office. Heal the grief of watching my body fail me and the loneliness of suffering that nobody else can fully see.
Heal my faith where doubt has crept in. I confess there are moments when I wonder if You’re listening, when the pain makes it hard to believe that You are good. Meet me in those moments, Father. I need Your presence, steady and sure, reminding me that even in the valley of the shadow of death You are with me.
Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses who care for me. Guide their hands, sharpen their minds, and let them be instruments of Your healing. If healing comes slowly, give me the patience and courage to endure, and help me trust Your timing even when it doesn’t match mine.
I place my body, my health, my future, and my life in Your hands.
In the healing name of Jesus Christ, I pray.
Amen.

Scripture
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.
James 5:14-15Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
Psalm 103:2-3Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
Matthew 9:35Guidance
Whether you’re at home or in a hospital bed, close your eyes and shut out the noise. Ask God to be present in the room.
Praying over your own body is an act of faith. Let each word settle. If tears come, let them come. God receives those too.
Name the specific illness, the specific pain, the specific fear. God is not overwhelmed by details. Bring each one to Him.
Healing may come quickly or slowly. Either way, daily prayer keeps your heart set on hope and your eyes on the Healer.
Ask your church, your family, or our fellowship to pray with you. We pray over each request by name, and only first names are shared within the fellowship.
