Freedom Through Prayer is a fellowship of believers who pray for anyone who asks. You send us what you are carrying, a real person reads it, and our fellowship prays over your request by name.
It grew out of believers taking seriously the command to pray for one another. We built this site so that anyone, anywhere, could send a request and know it would be read and prayed over.
Your request arrives through the form into a private inbox, where a real person reads it. From then on, our fellowship prays over it by name. You are welcome to write again whenever your situation changes.
No. You will never be asked to pay, and online giving is not open at this time. No request is ever answered with an appeal for support.
Only our prayer fellowship. Requests arrive through the form into a private inbox, delivered by Formspree. Within the fellowship we share first names only, and requests are never published or used for marketing. There is one exception, and it is explained in the next answer.
One thing. If a request describes danger to a child, to an older adult, or to anyone who cannot protect themselves, we may be legally required to contact the authorities, and we will. We would rather tell you that before you write than after. Everything else stays between you, the person who reads requests, and the fellowship.
We read requests in batches, not in real time, and nobody watches the inbox around the clock. We are not a crisis service. If something cannot wait, call 911, or call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Outside the United States, findahelpline.com lists services by country.
No. We offer spiritual support through prayer, and we encourage anyone under the care of a doctor or counselor to continue that care. If you are in crisis, call 911, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or the SAMHSA helpline at 1-800-662-4357.
Yes. You can ask on behalf of a parent, a spouse, a child, or a friend. Give us their first name and what they are facing. Please share only what is needed for prayer, since that person has not agreed to anything, and leave out diagnoses, legal matters, and anything that could identify them.
We set no stop date on a request. Jesus taught His followers to always pray and not give up (Luke 18:1), and we take that teaching at face value. Once your name enters our prayers, it stays there.
Scripture calls believers to carry one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), to pray for one another so that healing may come (James 5:16), and to agree together in prayer (Matthew 18:19–20). We walk through these passages on our Biblical Foundation page.
