A Psalm 91 prayer of protection over your household, your travel, and your work. Pray it over the people under your roof and the ones far from home.
Father, we come to You as our refuge and our fortress. You made the heavens, and You watch over the door of our home. We place ourselves and our household under Your shelter today. Cover us, Lord. Our locks and our carefulness can only do so much. Our confidence is in You, the living God who neither slumbers nor sleeps.
We entrust our travel to You. Go with us on the road and bring us home again. Give Your angels charge over us, as Your Word promises, and keep us in all our ways. When the drive is long or the night is dark, steady the hands at the wheel and keep watch over the whole journey.
We give You our work as well. Protect us in the places where we labor, and protect the labor itself. Guard our minds from the schemes of the enemy and our mouths from words we would regret. Let integrity keep us, and let Your favor rest on whatever our hands find to do.
Father, watch over the people under this roof and the ones far from it. Keep our children as they go out and as they come in. Shield our marriage, our parents, and our friendships from harm and from division. Where any of us walks toward a danger we cannot see, go ahead of us and make a way through.
Protect our hearts from fear, Lord. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. When the news is heavy and the world feels unsafe, remind us that we abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Let us lie down in peace and sleep, for You alone make us dwell in safety.
We cannot be present everywhere our loved ones are, but You can. So we release them into Your keeping tonight, by name, one at a time. Preserve our going out and our coming in, now and always. We thank You that Your faithfulness is our shield, and we rest our whole household in Your care.
Amen.

2 Thessalonians 3:3Guidance
Open Psalm 91 and read it slowly before you say anything. The psalm describes who God is before it asks Him for anything. Let those promises settle in you, then begin to pray.
Bring each person under your roof before God by name. Add the ones who live far away, since distance does not put anyone beyond His reach. Praying by name turns a general wish into a specific request.
Pray over the day before it begins. Mention the commute, the workplace, the school run, and the appointments. Ask God to go ahead of you into each one.
Tell God plainly what you are afraid of. Naming a fear in His presence is often the first step toward peace about it. Then thank Him that He is awake through the night even when you are not.
You do not have to carry a fear for your family alone. Send your request through our form and a real person will read it, and our fellowship will pray over it by name. There is no stop date on that.
You have just prayed this prayer. If you would like others praying it with you, send us your request. It arrives in a private inbox, a real person reads it, and our fellowship prays over it by name.
