Who We Are

About Freedom Through Prayer

We are ordinary people who believe in an extraordinary God. Our ministry exists for one reason: to pray for those trapped by alcohol and the families who love them.

Our Story

Born from brokenness, built on prayer

It started with a phone call at 2 a.m. A woman named Sarah, crying so hard she could barely speak. Her husband had relapsed again. The kids were asleep upstairs. She had nowhere to turn and no money for another round of treatment. All she asked was, "Will somebody please pray for us?"

That phone call changed everything. Not because we had the answers — we didn't. Not because we had funding or a fancy program — we had neither. But we had something the world often overlooks: we had people who knew how to get on their knees and cry out to God on behalf of someone else.

Freedom Through Prayer was founded in 2022 by a small group of believers who had seen addiction destroy too many families in their own communities — their own neighborhoods, their own churches, their own dinner tables. Some of us are pastors. Some of us are counselors. And some of us are the ones who used to hold the bottle.

We know what it feels like to wake up with shame so heavy you can't lift your head. We know what it feels like to watch someone you love disappear into a person you don't recognize. And we know — because we've lived it — that God can do what willpower alone cannot.

We are not a replacement for professional treatment, AA, or medical care. We believe in all of those things. But we also believe that prayer unlocks something in the spiritual realm that no program can touch. We believe that when 20 people pray for you by name, every single day, something shifts. Something breaks. Something opens.

Since we started, we've prayed for thousands of individuals and families. We've watched men put down the bottle after 30 years. We've watched marriages come back from the dead. We've watched children get their parents back. Not every story ends the way we hope — we grieve those too — but we never, ever stop praying.

This ministry will always be free. We will never charge a dime for prayer. We are funded entirely by the generosity of donors who believe in what God is doing. If you're reading this and you need prayer, you've already found the right place. If you're reading this and you want to help, we need you too.

"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

What We Believe

Our statement of faith

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God — our ultimate authority in all matters of faith and life.

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power and glory.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, crucified for our sins, risen from the dead, and coming again. He is the only way to salvation.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives inside every believer, empowering us to live holy lives, to pray with power, and to overcome what we cannot overcome alone.

The Power of Prayer

We believe prayer changes things — not because of our own righteousness, but because we serve a God who hears, who cares, and who acts.

Freedom in Christ

We believe that through Christ, every chain can be broken. Addiction does not have the final word. God does.

Our Promise

Prayer is always free

We will never charge for prayer. Not now, not ever. If you need someone to pray for you, we're here. Period. No strings attached, no hidden costs, no upsell.
